The first Distance-Learning Centre for Ukrainians has been opened in Rzeszów

The first Distance-Learning Centre for young people from Ukraine was opened on Thursday in Rzeszów. It is equipped with computers enabling refugees to study remotely in Ukrainian schools. By the end of March, there will be four such places in the city.

Remote Education Centers are a response to the needs of the Ukrainian community hosted in Rzeszów, but not attending classes in the Polish education system. New Distance-Learning Centre are created in cooperation with international organizations – UNICEF and UNHCR.

Kamil Czyż, Director of the Department Rzeszów City Hall, says that UNHCR is one of the first organizations to come forward to help deal with the refugee crisis. Their only office outside Warsaw is located in Rzeszów. (PAP)

Ukrainian children and youth who are educated remotely in the Ukrainian education system will be able to use the available places and computer equipment.

“These are places where children will be able to use high-class equipment and connect with their teachers in comfortable conditions. In this way, we complete the educational offer in Poland. Our schools already have a large group of students who attend classes with Polish children, or are preparing for it in specially created departments.”,

says Krystyna Stachowska, Deputy Mayor of Rzeszów.
