    The roof of the 17th-century baroque palace in Konarzewo is on fire and more than 100 firefighters from Poznań and the surrounding area are battling the blaze. “We do not know the cause of the fire. The historical and cultural losses are priceless. The Fire Brigade deserve a huge thanks, we know unofficially that several of them were injured. Thank you for your hard work, dedication, and help”, we read on the Konarzewo Village’s Facebook page.

    Before 7 pm on Tuesday, firefighters were notified of a fire at the palace in Konarzewo. The duty officer of the Wielkopolska fire brigade told PAP that the fire extinguishing ended on Wednesday at around 4.00 a.m. The operation involved about 40 fire brigade members. A fire had destroyed the roof of a building with a total area of 500 square meters.
