“Without Tomasz Sakiewicz, there would be no freedom of speech today”: Bąkiewicz expresses gratitude for the work of TV Republika

“This is a man without whom there would be no freedom of speech today, and without whom we would not be able to organize together many important patriotic events,” said Robert Bąkiewicz, head of the Rota of the Independence March, in his appraisal of Tomasz Sakiewicz, President of TV Republika.

On Saturday, the Great March commemorating the 1000th anniversary of the Polish Kingdom took place. Immediately following the event, a spontaneous demonstration in defence of TV Republika was organized at the initiative of the Gazeta Polska Clubs. Among those who spoke during the rally held in front of the station’s headquarters was Robert Bąkiewicz, initiator of the Border Defense Movement.

“I would like to extend my sincere thanks to TV Republika for showing the truth—for showing how Polish patriots today are fighting, how they are working, how they are striving to defend a free and independent Poland,”

he said to the gathered crowd.

He added that “Donald Tusk and his associates would like to eliminate TV Republika and the channel wPolsce 24.” He continued: “They would like to suppress freedom of speech because the despotism they are preparing for us is a form of tyranny that should not allow us to access information about our ongoing struggle.”

Bąkiewicz expressed his gratitude to Tomasz Sakiewicz, President of TV Republika. “I think history will judge this. However, he is an exceptional individual […] I don’t want to flatter him excessively, but I believe that objectively speaking, he is a man without whom freedom of speech would not exist today, and without whom we would not be able to jointly organize many important patriotic events,” he stated.

He also encouraged participation in his initiative:

“The Border Defense Movement is an important cause. It defends not only the borders but also protects Poland from mass migration. I encourage us to act together, to organize together, so that when the time comes, we will stand here in our millions to defend free media, to defend TV Republika, to not yield—so that those politicians with totalitarian ambitions understand that they will never defeat us and that we will never give in.”

Bąkiewicz also announced that an Anti-Migration March will begin at noon on April 26 at Dmowski Roundabout. “We invite everyone to join us, so that we may show our opposition to Tusk’s policies, to Trzaskowski’s policies—of flooding Poland with migrants who are culturally alien,” he added.
