“Due to the confidentiality of visa data, we have no information on this matter” – this was the response provided by the U.S. Department of State to a journalist from Polish Press Agency, who asked “under what procedure the former Minister of Justice, Zbigniew Ziobro, arrived in the United States”.
As a spokesperson for the U.S. diplomatic service told the agency, he could not provide information regarding Ziobro’s entry into the United States, “due to the confidentiality of visa data, we have no information on this matter”, he said.
“The United States and Poland share close political, economic, and social ties, rooted in the centuries-long friendship between our nations and governments”, he added.
The Department of State generally does not publicly comment on visa decisions, although there have been exceptions in the past – such as the revocation of visas for some pro-Palestinian activists, as well as relatives of officials of the Iranian regime.
The United States Department of Homeland Security and the White House have not yet responded to questions from the Polish Press Agency regarding Ziobro.
