“They’ve completely lost track of the facts.” Kempa tears into the government’s communication strategy

“The government has completely lost track when it comes to the facts. Minister Kierwiński’s press conference was simply laughable in such a crisis situation,” said Beata Kempa during her appearance on Telewizja Republika, criticizing the government’s communication regarding the railway sabotage. “This is extremely worrying and shows the weakness of the state,” added the adviser to the President of the Republic of Poland.

The conversation on Miłosz Kłeczek’s program Wysokie napięcie focused on last week’s acts of sabotage. Guests representing most political parties largely agreed with Anna Świerkowska of Confederation that individuals convicted in Ukraine should not be allowed into Poland at all. The only dissenting voice was Paweł Lech, a Warsaw city councillor from Civic Coalition.

Beata Kempa, adviser to President Karol Nawrocki, drew attention to her concerns about the ruling party’s approach to Poland’s security. “This destabilization of the state has been happening since Donald Tusk became prime minister,” she reminded. She described the successive acts of sabotage — such as drones entering Polish airspace or now the railway sabotage — as Russia “testing the reactions of the main actors.” Meanwhile, she argued, the government continues to ridicule military equipment and institutions.

According to Kempa, the government’s communication on Saturday and Sunday was also of very poor quality.

“If not for the media, we would be dealing with a complete crisis. The government has entirely lost track when it comes to the facts. Minister Kierwiński’s press conference was simply laughable in such a crisis situation. This is extremely worrying and demonstrates the weakness of the state,” said Beata Kempa.

She also recalled that right before the incident, Donald Tusk decided to reopen the border with Belarus. Kempa stressed that this certainly made the saboteurs’ task easier.
