“This is a danger to Poland.” PiS MPs strongly criticize Czarzasty’s ties

“In addition to wanting to clarify Mr. Czarzasty’s contacts with a Russian woman linked to the Kremlin, we also appeal to those reasonable MPs from the December 13 coalition to open their eyes and see what a dangerous trap for Poles and Poland this coalition under Tusk’s government and Sejm Speaker Włodzimierz Czarzasty is leading us into,” said PiS MP Przemysław Czarnek.

Dangerous ties of Czarzasty

According to findings by journalists from Gazeta Polska, Włodzimierz Czarzasty, who currently serves as Speaker of the Sejm, was for two years a member of the parliamentary committee on special services despite not having been vetted by the Internal Security Agency (ABW).

The article also discusses the relations between Włodzimierz Czarzasty and his wife and a Russian citizen dealing in works of art, employed by an auction house linked to Russia’s largest bank, controlled by the Kremlin.

“Czarzasty’s behavior is a danger to Poland”

Przemysław Czarnek, a PiS MP, during a press conference devoted to Czarzasty’s dangerous ties, recalled that “Mr. Włodzimierz Czarzasty has been in the position of Speaker of the Sejm for a very short time – it is only 2.5 months since he took the helm of the Polish Sejm. By virtue of his office, he is the second most important person in the state.”

Those 2.5 months were enough for him to compromise himself and to constantly compromise Poland on the international stage. It is enough to recall his famous visit to Berlin, where he treated Poles as people who do not think and are basically unworthy of attention, saying that Poles do not need reparations, that it is enough to hug them and pat them on the head. Following that visit, at the foreign affairs committee we heard Mr. Marek Siwiec almost praising the Germans to the skies, saying that they will have a monument in a spectacular place in Berlin where they will say what World War II was. This is a policy on one’s knees. This is a policy of submission. To whom? To the European left
– he announced.

In Czarnek’s view, “Mr. Czarzasty is a representative of the European left, now governing in Brussels and Germany – a decidedly pro-Russian direction in business and politics, the best example of which is the behavior of Gerhard Schroeder, is absolutely clear.”

European elites’ policy is downright addictively pro-Russian. Mr. Speaker Czarzasty fits into this trend with his stance. Into this pro-Russian and at the same time anti-American trend, which is meant to push the most important NATO ally with the greatest military power – the United States – out of European politics
– he emphasized.

He also recalled that “Czarzasty’s latest statement has brought us into a situation of very great danger – we do not live in times when one can say that nothing threatens us.”

“Today, war is happening before our eyes, just beyond our borders. The threat from Putin’s Russia is enormous. Therefore, Mr. Czarzasty’s behavior, this pro-German submissiveness and representation of an extremely pro-Russian and anti-American stance, is a danger to Poland. In addition to wanting to clarify Mr. Czarzasty’s contacts with a Russian woman linked to the Kremlin, we also appeal to those reasonable MPs from the December 13 coalition to open their eyes and see what a dangerous trap for Poles and Poland this coalition under Tusk’s government and Sejm Speaker Włodzimierz Czarzasty is leading us into,” he concluded.

In turn, MP Antoni Macierewicz pointed out that “Mr. Czarzasty’s actions are actions whose function is to threaten Poland’s security.”

“His attack on the United States, with which the alliance is the foundation of our actions and security, is a scandalous matter. (…) The entire genesis of his (Czarzasty’s – ed.) political functioning began in 1983, when the Soviets were attacking Poland, when there was martial law meant to destroy Poland. And at that time he joined in and continues to pursue the same direction. This is a huge threat to us, and its consequence is a danger to Poland. One must be fully aware of this,” concluded Antoni Macierewicz.

He stressed that for this purpose a secret discussion is needed in parliament to summarize Czarzasty’s actions and draw consequences from them.
