Tonight Trump Will Address Americans. The U.S. President Announces: “We Have a Lot to Discuss”

The American economy, illegal immigration, and foreign policy are likely to be the main topics President Donald Trump will focus on during his annual address, which he is set to deliver overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday Polish time.

On Thursday evening, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, will deliver the State of the Union address. The most prominent U.S. political leaders, Supreme Court justices, and military officials will gather at the seat of the U.S. Congress.

The annual address (known as the State of the Union) is delivered by the sitting U.S. president. Trump is expected to outline the achievements of his presidency so far, while also presenting the goals his administration intends to pursue in the coming year.

Asked about the upcoming speech, Trump revealed only that it would be lengthy, as he “has a lot to discuss.”

American media outlets and commentators suggest that the president will focus in particular on the economy—specifically on the tariffs that have been introduced. Vice President J.D. Vance also emphasized the issue of Americans’ prosperity.

“You will hear a lot about how important it is to bring jobs back to our country. I think (President Trump – ed.) will speak extensively about regulatory changes and about how crucial it is to lower energy prices for Americans,” Vance said in an interview with Fox News.

Another key topic is expected to be illegal immigration, one of the central issues of Trump’s presidential campaign. Moreover, the public may also expect the president to address foreign policy matters—especially Russia’s war against Ukraine, the situation in Iran and Venezuela, as well as efforts to secure access to Greenland.

The speech is scheduled for 9:00 p.m. local time (3:00 a.m. Polish time). During the address, Vice President J.D. Vance, President of the Senate, and Speaker of the House Mike Johnson will stand behind the president.

Last year, Trump set a record for the longest speech delivered by a president before a joint session of Congress. The address lasted one hour and 40 minutes, surpassing the previous record held by former President Bill Clinton, whose speech lasted one hour and 28 minutes.
