The administration of Donald Trump is fulfilling one of its key campaign promises – effectively curbing illegal migration. Since January, more than 515,000 foreign nationals have been deported from the United States.
Trump Delivers on His Promises
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that since Donald Trump’s return to the White House on January 20, 2025, American authorities have conducted mass deportations of individuals residing in the country illegally. Additionally, 1.6 million immigrants are reported to have voluntarily left the United States.
Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security Tricia McLaughlin told Fox News that the administration is “on track to break historic records.” According to projections, by the end of Trump’s first year in office, the total number of deportations could reach as high as 600,000.
“Illegal aliens are hearing our message to leave now or face the consequences. Migrants are now even turning back before they reach our borders,”
said McLaughlin, emphasizing that attempts to cross through Panama’s Darién Gap have fallen by 99.99 percent.
McLaughlin stressed that “this is just the beginning,” adding that President Trump and Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem “have jumpstarted an agency that was vilified and barred from doing its job for the last four years.”
The Trump administration is also focusing on removing the most dangerous criminals from the country. Over the past weekend, the Department of Homeland Security announced the arrest of illegal immigrants convicted of rape, assault, and kidnapping.
“In the face of a historic number of injunctions from activist judges, ICE, CBP, and the US Coast Guard have made historic progress to carry out President Trump’s promise of arresting and deporting illegal aliens who have invaded our country,”
the department representative stated.
The U.S. government maintains that its hardline immigration policy is part of restoring national security and border sovereignty. McLaughlin stated that deportations will continue, and that the administration’s priority remains the effective protection of America against illegal migration.
