Trump Responds to Iranian Threats in His Own Style. Drones Launched Toward U.S. Military Base in Iraq

U.S. President Donald Trump warned on Saturday that Iran would face the “unprecedented might” of the American military if it were to attack the United States in any way. On Sunday, The Washington Post, citing anonymous U.S. military sources, reported that following an Israeli strike on Iran, three drones were launched toward an American military base in Iraq.

Trump Doesn’t Hold Back

Another exchange of attacks between Iran and Israel took place overnight from Saturday to Sunday. According to Israeli military and emergency services, at least eight people were killed, and 200 others were injured.

Trump stated on his social media platform, Truth Social, that the United States had no involvement in the Israeli attack on Iran.

According to Iranian media, Tehran warned the United States, the United Kingdom, and France that it would target their bases and naval vessels in the Middle East if they assist Israel in countering Iranian offensives.

Trump also asserted, “We could easily broker a deal between Iran and Israel and put an end to this bloody conflict!!!”

Drones Intercepted

The drones heading toward Al-Asad Air Base in western Iraq were intercepted and destroyed. No group has claimed responsibility for the attempted attack.

The Washington Post emphasized that, during the current Israeli-Iranian conflict, Iran-backed militias in Iraq have remained largely inactive. In the past, these groups have attacked U.S. bases in Iraq and Syria in retaliation for Washington’s support of Israel in its fight against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

On Saturday, for the second day in a row, supporters of armed factions in Iraq demonstrated in central Baghdad against the Israeli strikes on Iran. Protesters did not attempt to breach the heavily fortified zone where the U.S. embassy is located.
