Over 5,400 students across 63 courses are expected to be admitted to the Lodz University of Technology (TUL) in the new academic year, with an additional 740 places reserved for foreign students. The recruitment process for undergraduate courses will begin on June 12th.
For the approaching recruitment process, the university is offering 5,415 places for undergraduate and graduate programs. The institution plans to admit 4,119 students for undergraduate programs, with the majority of 3,774 places designated for full-time courses. There are also 1,296 places available for graduate programs, of which 881 are reserved for full-time courses, according to Ewa Chojnacka, spokesperson for the Lodz University.
Candidates will also have access to a new recruitment portal and modified admission rules. “We have responded to the needs of candidates for studies, and we are confident that the changes we have made will contribute to even better matching the course to the candidate’s interests,” said Andrzej Romanowski, vice-rector for education.
Candidates will be able to choose up to four of the offered courses, and each course is of equal importance, meaning that they are not ranked in order of priority. Applications must be submitted through the Candidate Portal, and after the announcement of the list of qualified candidates, documents must be submitted to the Recruitment Department of the Lodz University of Technology.
“This will be the first recruitment process in which qualification will be conducted before the candidate submits documents. The candidate will be able to see whether they have been admitted to the selected course or are on the reserve list. They will also choose the course on which they want to study among those on which they have been accepted. In this way, space will be freed up for those interested in other courses,”
explained Joanna Ochelska-Mierzejewska, delegate for recruitment.
Additionally, among the qualifying subjects considered is the professional technician title.
“Candidates who complete a technical school and have many vocational subjects and vocational exams have less time to prepare for the matriculation exam at the level of high school students. We have decided to appreciate the selected professional titles and include them in the recruitment process. They are very valuable candidates for us, and their professional skills fit into many fields that we have at the Lodz University of Technology,”
added Romanowski.
The recruitment process for undergraduate courses will begin on June 12th, and the electronic registration of candidates will end on July 10th. Earlier, on July 3rd and 4th, there will be tests of artistic aptitude for the architecture and industrial design courses. Candidates’ documents will be accepted after the announcement of qualifications, i.e., from July 18th. Lists of admitted candidates and candidates qualified for admission from reserve lists will be announced on July 21st. The results of this round of recruitment will be announced on July 26th.
If not all places are filled, a second round of recruitment for undergraduate courses is planned. It will last from August 16th to September 11th. The university is waiting for candidate submissions in the Candidate Portal until September 11th. The results of this round will be announced on September 21st.
The recruitment process for graduate programs will begin on September 1st. Document submission will be accepted until September 14th, and the results will be announced on September 21st.
