Tusk Admits Defeat and Broken Promises: “I Got One-Third of the Power, So I Delivered One-Third of My Pledges”

Prime Minister Donald Tusk has done it again. He admitted that he failed to fulfill most of his promises, explaining that “100 pledges were for 100 percent of power.” – “I got one-third, and I delivered one-third,” he blurted out — inadvertently admitting to an electoral defeat.

During a meeting in Piotrków Trybunalski, Prime Minister Donald Tusk, responding to criticism over unfulfilled promises, said that he had implemented “one-third of the 100 pledges” because he only received 30 percent of the votes. “That seems like a fair calculation,” he tried to justify.

Many who heard Tusk’s remarks about the “100 pledges” could hardly believe he said it. Yet, Donald Tusk confirmed the same thing today in an interview with the duo Wojewódzki & Kędzierski.

“The 100 pledges were for 100 percent of power. I got 30 percent. I didn’t get 100 percent of the votes,” said the Prime Minister.

What’s more, the head of government openly admitted to his electoral loss — perhaps for the first time.

“I wasn’t the winner of those elections; I was second on the podium,” he said.

“I’d like everyone who says, ‘we gave you victory, and you wasted it, you’ve done so little,’ to understand — you didn’t give me victory. We got just under 31 percent of the votes, and our coalition partners turned out to be quite demanding. There’s a bit of shorthand in this, but it’s an honest one. I got one-third, and I delivered one-third,” Tusk added.
