It’s already been a month and a half since a large fragment of a missile, fired from a fighter jet, struck a house in the village of Wyryki. The missile was supposed to hit a Russian drone, but due to a targeting error, it changed direction. “A month has passed, and no one has lifted a finger,” said the owners of the house in Wyryki.
“We’ll rebuild your home,” “We won’t leave you like this,” – government representatives assured the Wesołowski family in September. However, as the Interia news portal has determined, these promises remain unfulfilled to this day. The portal reports that not only has no promised construction crew arrived, but even workers tasked with clearing the debris have not shown up.
“The walls are soaking up water; it all needs to be torn down now, or it’ll collapse any moment,” said the man.
“Everyone has forgotten about us. Once the TV crews left and the news stopped writing about our house, that was it. No one has lifted a finger,” added the owner of the destroyed home.
The incident occurred during the night of September 9th to 10th. At that time, more than 20 drones entered Polish airspace from the east. Some were shot down, while others fell in various parts of Poland. Initially, after the strike in Wyryki, authorities claimed that the destruction had been caused by a Russian drone. However, the newspaper Rzeczpospolita later determined that the house had been damaged by a missile fired from an F-16 fighter jet.
