“This is all Tusk – empty posturing that brings absolutely nothing for Poland or Poles. The only result is smearing Trump and America. At the same time, here in Poland, we have disclosures about Russian agents detected in the Ministry of National Defence, further train derailments that may be acts of sabotage by Russia or Belarus. And there is silence. Only the media reveal this information. Yet no teams are being appointed,” Arkadiusz Mularczyk tells the Niezalezna.pl portal. The former deputy foreign minister commented in this way on Donald Tusk’s announcement of creating a special team to investigate the Epstein scandal and its “possible Polish threads.”
Before today’s cabinet meeting, Donald Tusk announced the creation of a special team to deal with… the pedophilia scandal in the United States, the so-called Epstein affair.
“We have decided to establish an analytical team and possibly begin an investigation in connection with the scandal in the USA related to pedophilia,” the prime minister said.
He assessed it as “an entirely unprecedented matter,” which has captured the attention of the Polish public and ministers “due to the so-called Polish threads or traces in the whole affair.” Tusk also stated that if there was any case of Polish children being exploited by a pedophile network and by “the organizer of this satanic circle, Mr. Epstein,” the government would do everything “so that both those responsible and any victims not only see the activity of the Polish state, but also receive compensation if necessary and, above all, so that those who commit such horrific crimes are effectively prosecuted.”
However, interest in a case across the ocean does not seem accidental. The head of the ruling coalition does not even hide that he wants to link American conservatives with Russia. The prime minister suggests a narrative that the Epstein affair was “a Russian KGB operation – a so-called ‘honey trap,’ a sweet trap set for the elites of the Western world, mainly the USA.” This action appears to fit into a broader EU movement to push the USA out of Europe. As Gazeta Polska recently wrote, “Donald Tusk’s foreign policy shows one constant feature: unconditional subordination to Berlin’s anti-American plans.” Tusk, who back in March 2023 “publicly insinuated Donald Trump’s agent status,” is now trying to dress these accusations in the garb of an official state investigation. Just a few years earlier, he said outright that he wanted cooperation with Russia “such as it is.”
Mularczyk to Niezalezna.pl: Tusk Mounts the “White Horse”
The Niezalezna.pl portal asked Arkadiusz Mularczyk, former deputy head of Polish diplomacy, to comment on Donald Tusk’s actions in this area. In his assessment:
“It is obvious that Donald Tusk is trying to jump on this media wave that has swept through the USA and Europe. He wants to gain his five cents from it, obviously by undermining President Trump. He will only highlight figures from the political camp opposed to his own. However, one must remember that under Biden’s administration there were also motions to release the Epstein files. Those who demanded their disclosure were labeled cranks. Today, when Donald Trump has released them and it is clear there is nothing there that incriminates him – quite the opposite – Donald Tusk mounts the ‘white horse’ and wants to investigate some Polish threads or traces of the Epstein affair.”
Yet no teams are being appointed,” the MEP from Law and Justice (PiS) tells Niezalezna.
In his view, “this is classic Tusk – playing around topics where he feels he or his political environment can gain something. Yet there is no reaction in directions that genuinely threaten the security of Polish citizens. Fanning the Epstein affair will not add anything to people’s wallets or plates, and it serves exclusively Tusk’s interests.”
We also asked Mularczyk about the evident helplessness of the Polish state in catching pedophiles in Poland. In this context, we raised the case of Marcin Turczyński, alias “Turek,” the former head of the infamous Sopot “Bay of Art,” who is wanted on a warrant. In a trial concerning sexual crimes against minors, he was sentenced to six years in prison. Despite the verdict, he “failed to report to prison” and fled.
“This is precisely the absurdity of this entire story. The Polish state is in many areas absolutely leaky, ineffective, inefficient. Tusk’s policy consists exclusively of PR, of a few days of heightened activity. There is no strategy, no concept, no vision – whether in combating Russian disinformation, Russian influence, or pedophile crime, which also involves people from higher social circles. Here there is silence, glossing over topics. Blowing on and jumping onto waves that can somehow hit Donald Tusk or America. We all know that Donald Tusk owes his premiership to Berlin and Brussels. Today, America poses a threat to him,” the politician commented.
