The Prime Minister’s Office posted a message regarding the government reshuffle, calling it a “fresh start.” However, many internet users remain skeptical that anything will actually change. The post has been flooded with increasingly mocking comments.
“The Prime Minister will announce the new Council of Ministers on Wednesday at 10:00 AM,” government spokesperson Adam Szłapka wrote on social media yesterday.
What exactly the long-promised reshuffle will look like is still unclear. Nonetheless, some politicians from the December 13 coalition have begun to shed light on what is likely to be the new composition of the government. There’s a growing narrative around a “slimmed-down cabinet.”
“I think some ministers without portfolio will end their tenure, and some will be reassigned to positions as secretaries or undersecretaries of state within ministries. In certain departments, we’ll see personnel changes,” said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs Krzysztof Gawkowski on Monday in an interview with Radio Zet.
PM’s Office Opens Itself Up to Criticism
We’ve heard phrases like “we’re getting down to work,” “this will be a breakthrough year,” or “we must speed things up.” But the results? Still nowhere to be seen. And yet, when questioned about what this “streamlined” government will look like, the Prime Minister’s official profile on x.com posted a brief message today: “This will be a completely fresh start.” A graphic was also shared, reading: “This will be a completely new Council of Ministers,” with Adam Szłapka’s name signed below.
But almost immediately, mocking comments began pouring in. Many users responded with irony, quipping things like: “A fresh start… like opening an umbrella?”
