Visa, one of the world leaders in digital payments, plans to open a global technology and product hub in Poland, which will be the first of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe. The investment aims to support a 24/7 innovation development model and further fuel the rapid growth of digital commerce and payments. The Polish Investment and Trade Agency supported the company throughout the investment process.
It will be Visa’s 5th such centre in the world and the first in Europe. The company plans to employ more than 1,000 high-level IT professionals in connection with the investment.
The investment will be Visa’s fifth global technology and product hub of major strategic importance. The investment project implemented in Poland is part of Visa’s drive to create innovation and invest in the European region. Visa will look for new ways to leverage the skills of young professionals from Central and Eastern Europe to accelerate product development work and create innovation at scale, benefiting both consumers and its customers, as well as buyers and sellers around the world. By 2025, the Hub will employ 1,500 technology professionals.
