In response to growing concerns, Warsaw residents have voiced strong support for a nighttime ban on alcohol sales. The city conducted consultations involving nearly 9,000 participants, with a significant 80.78% favoring restrictions on alcohol sales in stores and gas stations between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM.
Broad Public Consultation
The consultation process was comprehensive, involving online surveys, workshops across various districts, and public meetings. The majority of respondents, 96.9%, believe the restrictions should apply citywide. Discussions highlighted concerns about public safety, noise disturbances, and the negative impact of alcohol on youth.
Following the consultation, Warsaw’s mayor has ordered the preparation of a resolution to restrict alcohol sales from 11:00 PM to 6:00 AM citywide. The City Council will review the proposal, and local district councils will have 30 days to provide their feedback.
