Artistic, dance, theatrical, historical, weaving, calligraphy, and photography workshops, multimedia exhibitions, various themed activities, film screenings, theatrical performances, educational games and animations, concerts – these are just some of the offerings prepared for the winter holidays by museum and artistic institutions led and co-led by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. From January 15 to February 25, over 80 institutions will be implementing a special program for children and youth. We invite you to explore the rich offerings and take advantage of the opportunities for shared activities.
During the winter break, the Castle Museum in Łańcut will host sessions featuring stories about past balls, games, and carnival masquerades. Creative and movement workshops will accompany these gatherings. Participants will collaboratively prepare invitations and dance cards for the ball, choose appropriate accessories for costumes, and learn dances such as the minuet and polonaise.
Sessions and workshops will take place from January 30 to February 9, 2024 (Tuesday to Friday). On other days, the Museum invites families to explore the Center for the Education of Traditions named after Jan Potocki, located in the former Orangery and Riding Arena.
Thanks to multimedia exhibitions in the former Orangery, visitors can transport themselves back in time to a ball at Princess Lubomirska’s, peek into the castle kitchen, and view Łańcut from a balloon’s perspective. Meanwhile, visitors to the former Riding Arena will see, among other things, a small carriage for children, the carriage in which Fryderyk Chopin traveled, and a collection of sleds.
During the winter holidays, all museum exhibitions are open to visitors. The exhibits are accessible to individuals with special needs, including those with disabilities (the former Orangery features a room of silence).
