    Winter break 2024 with culture – National Museum in Lublin

    Artistic, dance, theatrical, historical, weaving, calligraphy, and photography workshops, multimedia exhibitions, various themed activities, film screenings, theatrical performances, educational games and animations, concerts – these are just some of the offerings prepared for the winter holidays by museum and artistic institutions led and co-led by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. From January 15 to February 25, over 80 institutions will be implementing a special program for children and youth. We invite you to explore the rich offerings and take advantage of the opportunities for shared activities.


    National Museum in Lublin

    The National Museum in Lublin invites everyone to participate in the “Winter in the City” campaign, during which workshops for children and youth will be organized.

    Program:

    1. Material Painting

    • Can gloss, viscosity, or roughness be the theme of a work of art?
    • Explore the properties of omnipresent materials shaping our world through the eyes of avant-garde artists.
    • Create unique works using assemblage techniques.

    Dates: January 30 and February 2, 2024, Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

    Age/Number of Participants: For children aged 9-12. Limited to 18 participants.

    2. In a Wig and a Beret, or About the Portrait

    • From profile to en face. Idealized or highlighting imperfections.
    • Learn about portrait techniques throughout the centuries and the functions portraits served.
    • Create unique and unconventional portraits.

    Dates: January 31 and February 7, 2024, Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

    Age/Number of Participants: For children aged 7-12. Limited to 18 participants.

    3. Image or Not?

    • Explore the “Zamek” and Avant-Garde Group gallery and learn about abstract art.
    • Play with colors, lines, textures, and create your own non-pictures.

    Dates: February 1 and February 8, 2024, Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

    Age/Number of Participants: For children aged 5-7. Limited to 18 participants.

    4. Whimsical Creatures

    • Follow the tracks and traces left in the museum, searching for their owners.
    • Discover depictions of furry and feathery creatures, flying, swimming, crawling, and jumping.
    • Create your own whimsical creatures from self-hardening clay.

    Date: February 6, 2024, Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

    Age/Number of Participants: For children aged 5-7. Limited to 18 participants.

    5. Valuable and Colorful – Painting Banknotes

    • Conducted at the temporary exhibition “Golden Poland. On the 100th anniversary of Władysław Grabski’s currency reform.”
    • Inspired by exhibited items, participants will create colorful banknotes on plexiglass using stencils and paint.

    Date: February 9, 2024, Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

    Age/Number of Participants: For children aged 7-10. Limited to 18 participants.
