From October 25th to 28th, 2023, the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań, together with the Włodzimierz Kamiński and Helena Harajda Art of Luthier Foundation and the Association of Polish Luthier Artists, is hosting the Włodzimierz Kamiński Luthier Art Festival.

This creative event serves as a hub for the exchange of ideas and concepts related to violin making among luthiers, musicians, and the general public. The festival aims to promote contemporary works by Polish luthiers, enhance the quality of luthier education, and introduce the art of luthiering to a broader audience.

Key events include the 1st International Włodzimierz Kamiński Luthier Competition, Luthier Art Workshops, an International Luthier Conference, and an Exhibition by Polish Luthier Artists.

The festival begins with the first stage of the luthier competition, where 36 instruments crafted by students from Europe and the United States will be evaluated for their aesthetic and acoustic qualities. The festival culminates in a gala featuring the competition’s laureates.

This festival not only celebrates the art of luthiering but also invites the public to experience the craftsmanship of violin making and its rich history.
