Zbigniew Ziobro commented on the court’s decision: “I feel no satisfaction,” he said on TV Republika

“Even if prosecutor Ewa Wrzosek had put on a judge’s robe, given the facts and the laws in force in Poland, she would not have allowed herself to so blatantly break and bend legal norms,” said Ziobro, referring to the court’s rejection of a request to have him arrested. The request had been made by the illegal Pegasus commission.

The Warsaw District Court today dismissed the arrest request made by the illegal Pegasus commission regarding former Minister of Justice Zbigniew Ziobro. The commission has announced its intention to appeal the decision. Attorney Paweł Hajduk, representing Ziobro, pointed out that the court considered statements from the Chief of the Warsaw Police, the Commander of the Marshal’s Guard, and the commission itself.

Ziobro himself commented on the decision on TV Republika. He admitted that he was not surprised by the outcome.

“It was hard to imagine any decision other than the one that was made. From both a factual and legal standpoint, there was not a single reason—no matter how small—that would justify placing me under arrest. Even if the court had been politically charged and biased… Even if Ms. Wrzosek had put on a judge’s robe, given the facts and Polish law, she would not have allowed herself to so blatantly break and bend legal norms,” he said.

He added that “it was the commission, acting on orders from the capo, Donald Tusk, that allowed itself to do so.” – “They tricked the court into issuing an order for my detention and forced appearance before this illegal commission. And then—when they actually had the opportunity to carry out the procedure they had requested—they failed to do so. Instead, they chose to continue their political spectacle, setting a trap, as Giertych put it in the media, to get me arrested,” he stated.

“I feel no satisfaction that the court ruled as it was supposed to rule. I feel no obligation or debt of gratitude to the court for behaving properly in this matter—because that’s exactly what it did,” he said.

However, he also stated that he disagreed with the court’s reasoning regarding the legality of the commission. He emphasized that the Constitutional Tribunal’s ruling on this matter is binding on all legal authorities.
