Zbigniew Ziobro Set to Return to Politics in December

Former Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro will resume his political activities in December, according to PiS MP Michał Wójcik. Ziobro, who stepped back from public life last autumn due to cancer treatment, is reportedly feeling much better. However, it remains uncertain whether he will attend the Sejm session scheduled for December 4-5.

    Controversy Over Pegasus Inquiry

Ziobro’s absence from the parliamentary commission investigating the Pegasus surveillance scandal has sparked questions. Wójcik clarified that Ziobro’s absence was not due to his illness but rather his refusal to recognize the commission’s legitimacy. He cited a Constitutional Tribunal ruling, albeit unpublished, which declared the commission’s scope unconstitutional.

Wójcik dismissed the likelihood of Ziobro being forcibly brought before the commission, expressing confidence that no judge would approve such a motion. Meanwhile, Wójcik and former Deputy Justice Minister Marcin Warchoł plan to challenge the prosecutor’s decision not to investigate the commission’s legality.
