The 12th Annual Council of Europe Cultural Routes Advisory Forum will be held in September 2023 in Łódź. The agreement on this matter was signed on Tuesday in Brussels by Deputy Prime Minister Piotr Gliński and Executive Secretary of the Council of Europe Stefano Dominioni.
The Annual Advisory Forum enables the reunion of member States representatives, Cultural Routes operators, candidate networks to the certification “Cultural Route of the Council of Europe”, international organisations, local and regional authorities, civil society organisations, chambers of commerce, foundations and other donor organisations and heritage and tourism organisations and platforms.

Since 1987, the Cultural Routes has demonstrated, by means of a journey through space and time, how the heritage of the different countries and cultures of Europe contributes to a shared and living cultural heritage.
The Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe (EPA) was established in 2010. It seeks to reinforce the potential of Cultural Routes for cultural cooperation, sustainable territorial development and social cohesion, with a particular focus on themes of symbolic importance for European unity, history, culture and values and the discovery of less well-known destinations.
Over 45 Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe provide a wealth of leisure and educational activities for all citizens across Europe.
They cover a range of different themes, from architecture and landscape to religious influences, from gastronomy and intangible heritage to the major figures of European art, music and literature.
In addition, the certification “Cultural Route of the Council of Europe” is a guarantee of excellence.
Previously, the 11th Annual Advisory Forum on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe took place in Chania (Crete), Greece on 5-7 October. The Forum was attended by the representatives of the 37 member States of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe and representatives of the 48 certified Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe.
