The Good Start program, offering a one-time 300 PLN financial support for school-related expenses, has seen an overwhelming response in Silesian Voivodeship. Since its launch in early July, over 180,000 parents and guardians have applied for the assistance, available exclusively through online channels. The Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) will transfer the funds directly to recipients’ bank accounts.
Among the cities in Silesian Voivodeship, Katowice, Częstochowa, and Sosnowiec have emerged as frontrunners, with the highest number of Good Start applications. To ensure timely disbursement, authorities urge all applicants to submit their documents by the end of August, guaranteeing receipt of funds by September 30.
Nationwide Impact and Inclusivity
Beyond Silesian Voivodeship, the Good Start program has received more than 1.5 million applications nationwide, resulting in approximately 180 million PLN disbursed for school supplies in July. Remarkably, the financial aid is available to all parents, irrespective of their income, supporting children up to 20 years of age or 24 years for those with disabilities.
