The so-called “Zorro from Tarnów,” who staged a unique protest during Rafał Trzaskowski’s rally, gave an interview to TV Republika. “As Zorro, I wanted to act on behalf of ordinary citizens dissatisfied with Donald Tusk’s governance. I chose Tarnów because it was here that Donald Tusk announced his ‘100 policies,'” he explained.

The Tarnów police are currently searching for the man dubbed “Zorro,” who, during a rally held by Rafał Trzaskowski on Thursday, hung a banner with the hashtag “#AnyoneButTrzaskowski” from a building without the owner’s permission. The man is wanted for the misdemeanor offense of placing a banner without authorization.
“Zorro” appeared on TV Republika to discuss his protest.
“I wouldn’t call this a political happening. As Zorro, I wanted to act on behalf of ordinary citizens who are dissatisfied with Donald Tusk’s governance. I specifically chose Tarnów because it was here that Donald Tusk announced his ‘100 specifics,’ many of which, as we know, have not been fulfilled. The symbolism of Zorro and the banner was intended to reach the whole of Poland. This was the intended effect,” he stated.
He also spoke about the PO-PSL coalition government’s policies from 2007 to 2015.
“Regarding Donald Tusk’s governance, Zorro remembers his previous term. During those years, there was a significant sell-off of banks to foreign capital and shipyards. Hence, this protest aimed to reach ordinary citizens. When Zorro put on the mask, he wasn’t doing it for himself, but for ordinary people. That’s the reason for this happening,” he added.
“Zorro” from Tarnów was also asked about being pursued by the police for his protest.
“This is a rather extensive police operation against Zorro. Yesterday, after the whole event, Zorro climbed down from the roof and mounted his horse—please do not confuse it with Roman Giertych. He managed to escape, and Zorro is safe. I think that today and in the coming days, Zorro won’t be caught,” he asserted.
He also noted that “following yesterday’s initiative, many people have invited Zorro to visit them.”
“I wouldn’t rule out the possibility that Zorro will appear somewhere else in Poland before June 1. I would like to appeal to everyone: Just remember, anyone but Trzaskowski!” he concluded.
