President Duda Disturbed by Coup Allegations from Speaker Hołownia – Meeting Planned

President Andrzej Duda is planning a meeting with Speaker of the Sejm, Szymon Hołownia, in response to his recent comments regarding alleged incitement to carry out a coup d’état.

Last Friday, during an appearance on Polsat News, Speaker Szymon Hołownia revealed that he had been repeatedly encouraged to delay the swearing-in of Karol Nawrocki as President of Poland, effectively staging what he described as a “coup d’état.” When asked who had made such suggestions, Hołownia said it came from people who were unhappy with the outcome of the presidential election.

As revealed today by the portal Niezalezna.pl, Hołownia will be questioned by the prosecutor’s office in connection with this matter.

But that’s not the end of the story. As announced on the TV Republika program Bitwa Polityczna by presidential advisor Łukasz Rzepecki, President Andrzej Duda is troubled by the Speaker’s statements and intends to meet with Hołownia later this week.

On Monday, during an episode of Express Wieczorny on YouTube, Rzepecki confirmed the planned meeting.

“The meeting is expected to take place around Friday. And I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of a formal notification – whether from the Chancellery of the President or from President Andrzej Duda himself – following the conversation with Speaker Szymon Hołownia, in light of these reports or the remarks made by Mr. Hołownia,” Rzepecki stated.
