PLN 300 million for mountain communes

Nearly PLN 300 million from the Governmental Fund for Local Investments will be allocated to 82 mountain communes in Małopolska, the voivode of Małopolska, Łukasz Kmita, announced during the briefing. Most, almost PLN 11 million, will go to Zakopane.

“This is very good news regarding the support of Małopolska municipalities. If it were not the great operation of the Polish government, which responds to the epidemic situation on an ongoing basis, were it not the effective efforts of Law and Justice (Prawo i Sprawiedliwość – ruling party) MPs, these funds would certainly not go to Małopolska local governments on such a large scale,” Kmita said.

Law and Justice deputy Anna Paluch said that the Governmental Fund for Local Investments “was changing the face of Poland”.

“We want to support the tourism business in a special way, because it is a very important lever of the economic development of Małopolska, which has been severely damaged due to the pandemic,” said the PiS MP.

She added that support for mountain communes was also important from the point of view of the economy, because it meant support for local companies.
