Assisting another person is a key issue, everyone will get support from the Ombudsman if I become, declared PiS (Law and Justicy party) candidate for the Ombudsman, MP Bartłomiej Wróblewski. He also assessed that in Poland the constitution protects the rights of people with left-wing and right-wing views.
“Everyone has the right to ask the Ombudsman for support. Assisting another person is a key issue, everyone will get support from the Ombudsman if I become one,” assured Wróblewski on TVN24 on Thursday.
“The Ombudsman must stand on the side of people, on the side of their rights and freedom. One time he stands on the side of unborn children, another time he stands on the side of women, and in yet another case he stands on the side of fathers who have no contact with their children,” added .
Wróblewski also declared that, as the Ombudsman he would not take steps to prohibit abortion in the event of rape. He reminded that the application to the Constitutional Tribunal, which he co-authored, only referred “eugenic matters – a situation when a child is sick or disabled”.
He added that, as the Ombudsman, he would “take care for people with disabilities, for families, and for attendants of the disabled”. He announced that as a parliamentarian he was preparing projects “supporting mothers in difficult pregnancies”.
