    Visit of the Lithuanian Minister of Defense

    The security of NATO’s eastern flank and bilateral cooperation were the topics of talks between the Chief of the General Staff (Poland), General Rajmund Andrzejczak, and his Lithuanian counterpart, Lieutenant General Valdemaras Rupšys, the General Staff of the Polish Army informed today.

    The meeting was also attended by the Commander of the Lithuanian Army, Brigadier General Raimundas Vaikšnoras, First Deputy Chief of Polish General Staff, Lieutenant General Tadeusz Mikutel and the operational commander of the armed forces, Gen. Tomasz Piotrowski.

    The talks between the chiefs of defense of Poland and Lithuania concerned the security situation in the region, with particular taking into consideration the eastern flank of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, as well as cooperation in future exercises, educating and training, the General Staff said.

    During the visit, General Andrzejczak presented the award to the Lithuanian defense attaché in Poland, Col. Gytis Kazokas. On behalf of the head of the Ministry of National Defense, for special services in the field of defense cooperation, the chief of the General Staff awarded the officer with the Gold Medal of the Polish Army.
