The body of Vitaly Shishov, head of the Belarusian House in Ukraine, was found today in one of the parks in Kyiv. Yesterday, he was reported missing.

The body of a Belarusian citizen, activist Vitaly Shishov, who went missing on Monday, was found in Kyiv, local police reported today.  The hanged body was found in one of the city’s parks not far from where the man lived.

An investigation has been launched under the murder article of the Penal Code. Police have stressed that they will be checking all versions, including the version of a posed suicide murder.

The organization Belarusian Home, of which Shishov was the head, helps Belarusians fleeing their homeland from persecution.

Yesterday Belsat reported on its pages that Shishov’s disappearance occurred on Monday morning.  The man probably went for a morning run.  Friends of the activist checked the area where Shishov usually ran but found no traces.

Vitaly Shishov was, according to them, being followed for some time.
