    Kayaker Naja is the flag bearer of the Polish national team during the closing ceremony of the Games  

    Karolina Naja, who won two medals during the Tokyo Games, will be the flag bearer of the Polish national team during Sunday’s closing ceremony – confirmed to PAP by a representative of the Olympic mission. The titled canoeist has a total of four rings of the competition of this rank.

    Naja’s performance in Tokyo started with a silver medal won together with Anna Puławska in K2 500m. Then together with her, Justyna Iskrzycka and Helena Wiśniewska won the bronze at the same distance. In 2012 in London and 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, she, in turn, reached for the bronze in a double with Beata Mikołajczyk (now Rosolska). No other Polish canoeist can boast of such achievements.

     

    In Tokyo, the red and white team stood on the Olympic podium a total of 14 times.

     

    Maja Włoszczowska, a mountain biker, and Paweł Korzeniowski, a swimmer, were the flag bearers at the opening ceremony on 23 July.
