After many acts of solidarity with all Belarusians fighting for freedom and democracy, and especially with Belarusian artists, the time has come for specific, real support for people of culture and art, creators and actors, appealed Krzysztof Szuster, the president of the Association of Polish Stage Artists, to the directors of theaters in Poland.
“After many gestures and acts of solidarity with all Belarusians fighting for freedom and democracy, and especially with Belarusian artists, when, deeply moved by the dramatic events beyond our eastern border, we wrote letters to them (we sent words of support from ZASP, believing in the victory of good, reason, and awareness that there is no greater value than a man and his life), now is the time for special, real support for people of culture and art, creators, actors,” we read in the appeal published on Monday on the website of the Association of Polish Stage Artists (Związek Artystów Scen Polskich – ZASP)
It was recalled that “because of the circumstances in their homeland, many of them, forced to leave, found shelter and a safe asylum in our country”.
It was also written that “being aware of the language barrier, we do not appeal for an invitation to the stage, but for proposing activities around it, working for the theater”.
“We remain full of hope for a positive response from you,” we read at the end of the letter signed by the President of the Management Board of ZASP, Krzysztof Szuster.
