Tatra Musealia is the annual celebration of the Tatra Museum. This year it takes place on the weekend of 21-22 August in Zakopane. The event will be an opportunity to admire, among others, works by Witkacy and Gerson.
“Musealia is a celebration of the Tatra Museum held annually during the holidays. During these two days, we are presenting the collections in all our facilities and all our exhibition, and educational activities,” said the director of the Tatra Museum.
This year’s Musealia begins with a “Breakfast on the Grass” in front of the art gallery in the Oksza villa, which is a branch of the Tatra Museum. In this gallery, you will be able to admire the temporary exhibition “Gerson in the Tatra Mountains”, featuring the artist’s Tatra landscapes from the collections of the largest Polish National Museums. The first day of the Musealia will end with a highlander’s band concert at the Oksza villa.
On Sunday, those willing to participate will be able to take part in an urban game entitled ‘The searchers of wooden codes’. There will also be glass painting demonstrations and a visit to a branch of the Tatra Museum – the Highlander house of the Gąsienica Sobczak family – with a highlander guide.
