    Polish National Parks – Bory Tucholskie National Park

    Bory Tucholskie National Park is located in the north-western part of Poland. There are 21 lakes and 3 educational paths running through areas of the Park with a total length of 16.4 km.

    Bory Tucholskie National Park was established on the 1st of July, 1996. It covers a total area of 4 613.04 ha. In the area of the Park, there are 21 lakes, and 28 species of fish can be found there. 

     

    There are also 113 species of birds, including eagle owl and 38 species of mammals. Among mammals, there are 10 species of rodents, 10 species of predators, 9 species of bats, 4 species of insectivores 3 species of artiodactyls, and 2 species of lagomorphs.

     

    Additional information: 

    – the total length of trails: 87 400m,

    – 12 980.52 ha of the buffer zone,

    – 83% of the forest eco-systems, approx. 5.5% of non-forest eco-systems and 11.5% of water eco-systems,

    – 7% of strict protection zone (324.30 ha).
