“It’s the match for everything,” Poland national team coach Paulo Sousa admitted ahead of Tuesday’s World Cup qualifying match against Albania in Tirana. Both teams are competing for second place in Group I of the qualifiers, which will allow them to fight for promotion in the two-stage playoffs. Three games before the end of this phase of elimination Albania has a point more.
“Without a doubt, it’s a match for us for everything, but we came here with victory in mind,” the Portuguese coach said during a press conference in Tirana.
He pointed out that the good recent results have given confidence to his players.
“The results give us more and more confidence, but building a team is a process that is still ongoing. We need to focus on building a winner’s mentality. This is very important,” added.
The start of Tuesday’s match in Tirana is at 8:45 PM. The referee will be Frenchman Clement Turpin.
