Online conference to mark the European Day against Trafficking in Human Beings and Slavery

The crime of trafficking in human beings is a modern form of slavery that constitutes one of the most serious crimes and undermines human freedom and dignity. Combating this is a challenge for the entire European Union.

In order to make the public aware of what human trafficking is and how to protect oneself from becoming a victim of this crime, the European Day against Human Trafficking and Slavery is celebrated on October 18, annually for the last 15 years.

Counteracting this phenomenon, as well as assisting victims, has a multi-sectoral dimension and requires the competence of experts in many fields.

The Aid to the Church in Need Association, the Haart Poland Foundation, and the University Centre for Religious Freedom Studies at the UKSW in Warsaw organize assistance to victims of human trafficking and conduct an information campaign in Poland.
