He gained national fame for his portrayal of the painter Jerzy in the 1985 adaptation of Kornel Makuszyński’s Szaleństwa Panny Ewy and became a household name for his role as Bocian in the popular Jacek Bromski comedies, U Pana Boga w Ogródku and U Pana Boga za Miedzą. In 2014, he received the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta for his contributions to Polish culture, and in 2019, he was honoured with the Medal of the Century of Regained Independence for his role in advancing Poland’s independence and human rights. His loss is mourned, but his impact will continue to be felt for years to come.
