The Territorial Defense Force consists of 31,000 soldiers, the head of the Ministry of National Defense, Mariusz Błaszak, informed on Saturday (20 Nov). He added that they are currently conducting Operation “Strong Support” at the border and are fighting the effects of the coronavirus epidemic. He also thanked them for their service.
“The Territorial Defense Force already has 31,000 soldiers! The soldiers prove every day they are always ready. Currently, they are conducting the operation #SilneWsparcie (Strong Support) at the border and are fighting the effects of the epidemic. They are a country’s beck and call. Thank you for your service!,” reports the head of the Ministry of National Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak, on Twitter on Saturday (20 Nov).
“Today, there are 31,000 Territorial Defense Force’s soldiers,” said Col. Marek Pietrzak and stressed that this was “another important step on the way to achieving the operational capabilities of the formation”. He added that currently one of the most important tasks of the Territorial Defense Force is “saturating the formation with personnel”.
In Pietrzak’s opinion, crises “trigger the patriotic potential of Poles and they report to the TDF”. He recalled that only in August, the number of troops in the formation exceeded 30,000 and that the Territorial Defense Force plans at the end of the year to include 32,000 soldiers in its ranks.
Pietrzak informed that soldiers of Territorial Defense Force take part in anti-crisis activities, help in the effects of a pandemic, storms, gales or floods, and are currently in a crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border.
