Migrants forcibly crossed the border. “They've been detained”

A Border Guard spokesperson reported that 18 migrants crossed the Polish-Belarusian border yesterday. “They were all detained and returned to the borderline,” reported Lt. Anna Michalska.

On Tuesday (14 Dec) morning, the Border Guard announced on Twitter that there were about 20 attempts to forcibly cross the Polish-Belarusian border near Czeremcha.

“18 people crossed the border. They are mostly Iraqi citizens. They were all detained and turned back,” informed the Border Guard spokesperson, Lieutenant Anna Michalska. She added that migrants storming the border threw stones and blinded officers with lasers.

“These are typical actions of people trying to cross the border illegally in recent times,” added Lieutenant Anna Michalska.

Last day, 80 people tried to illegally cross the Polish-Belarusian border. Since the beginning of the year, the Border Guard has recorded nearly 40,000 attempts to illegally cross the Polish-Belarusian border.
