Altogether half a thousand Belarusian refugee children staying in Poland received Christmas presents. Christmas packages were prepared by their peers from Germany. On Sunday in Bialystok, gifts were given to Belarusian children living with their parents in the city.
On Saturday, over 300 gifts were handed out in Warsaw at the headquarters of the Belarusian Home Foundation, a co-organizer of the project.
As part of the Weihnachtspäckchenkonvoi (Christmas Parcel Convoy) campaign, children in German schools prepared over 150,000 Christmas parcels to give to their peers in Eastern European countries. In previous years, the majority went to Ukraine. This year, some of the gifts went to children from Belarus; transport from Germany to Poland was financed by Rotary Club Warsaw.
