    Four Hills Tournament today

    All members of the Polish team – Piotr Żyła, Kamil Stoch, Dawid Kubacki, Pawel Wasek, Andrzej Stękala and Jakub Wolny – advanced to the New Year’s competition in Garmisch-Partenkirchen of the Four-Hills-Tournament. The qualification was won by German Markus Eisenbichler, Żyła was fifth.

    Under difficult conditions, Eisenbichler jumped on 137 m ahead of Japanese Ryoyu Kobayashi (134 m) and German Karl Geiger (135.5 m).

     

    The fifth was Żyła who jumped 138.5 m under better conditions than the top jumpers. Stoch was 16th (131.5 m), Kubacki was 24th (126.5 m), Wąsek was 29th (129.5 m), Stękala was 41st (128 m) and Wolny was 43rd (123.5 m).

     

    The New Year’s competition in Garmisch-Partenkirchen will start at 2 pm.

     

    In the Four Hills Tournament, the jumpers compete in pairs. The 25 winners of these duels and the five so-called “lucky losers” will advance to the second round.

     

    In the first competition of the series – on Wednesday in Oberstdorf – Ryoyu Kobayashi was the best. The only Pole in the final round, Dawid Kubacki, finished 28th.
