Robert Lewandowski is among the final three footballers in the running for the Best FIFA Men’s Player 2021, the International Football Federation has announced. His rivals are Argentine Lionel Messi and Egyptian Mohamed Salah.
Last year Robert Lewandowski was the winner of the FIFA poll for the best men’s player, and now the Pole has a good chance to repeat this achievement. This season, the captain of the red-and-white team has once again become the champion of Germany with Bayern and the top scorer in the Bundesliga with 41 goals, thus breaking the record of the famous Gerd Mueller and winning the Golden Shoe, the award for the most successful player in European leagues.

The FIFA poll is voted on by national team managers and captains, journalists as well as internet users. Each of these groups contributes 25 percent to the final score. The award has been given since 1991. Last year, Lewandowski proved to be the best in all four voting groups, for which he received a total maximum score of 52. Second place went to Cristiano Ronaldo with 38 points and third place to Lionel Messi with 35.
The Best FIFA Player 2021 awards will be presented on January 17 in Zurich, and the ceremony will be held without an audience due to sanitary conditions.
