“Bartek was attacked on Tuesday, February 8, outside a local grocery store. He went out with his girlfriend to get milk. After unsuccessful attempts to save his life, he sadly died shortly thereafter. He was 21 years old and with his whole life ahead of him, he was about to start a new job. His family and friends are shattered and in shock,” – wrote a friend of the slain man’s mother launching a fundraiser on the fundraising platform GoFundMe to cover funeral costs.
