The Monetary Policy Council (Polish abbrev.: RPP) raised all interest rates by 0.75 percentage points on Tuesday. The reference interest rate, the main rate of the NBP, has risen from 2.75 per cent to 3.50 per cent, the National Bank of Poland (NPB) announced in a statement.
As reported, the RPP has decided to increase all NBP interest rates by 0.75 percentage points. The decision will enter into force on 9 March.
In accordance with the RPP’s decision of Tuesday, the reference rate increased to 3.50%, the lombard rate to 4.00%, the deposit rate to 3.00%, the rediscount rate to 3.55% and the discount rate to 3.60%.
This is the sixth increase in interest rates in a row. The first in a series of increases took place in October last year, and during that time the Monetary Policy Council has raised interest rates monthly.
