Adrianna Sułek with silver medal. She has set a new Polish record

The Indoor World Championships in Athletics have an excellent beginning. Adrianna Sułek won the silver medal in the pentathlon! She also broke the 24-year Polish record with 4851 points!

Adrianna Sułek became the runner-up of the World Indoor Championship in Belgrade in the pentathlon. The Pole improved the 24-year record in Belgrade. It currently stands at 4851 points.

“I’m very happy, the result is cosmic, but I shot for gold. Even though I am still very young and hope for good results in the future”, the athlete admitted with tears in her eyes in an interview with TVP Sport.

An 800-meter evening run played a decisive role. Sułek did her best again and took second place. Vidts confirmed that she was the best on that day, but right behind her was the Pole with a time of 2.09.56. With 4851 points, she broke the Polish record that Urszula Włodarczyk had held for 24 years. She improved it by 43 points. Sułek leapfrogged an older compatriot who won the bronze medal at the 1999 Maebashi in Japan.
