A 45-foot (13.71 meter) trench was revealed by Maxar Technologies satellite pictures. According to Reuters World, the first works on the grave are dated to March 10th. At that time, Bucha was under the control of Russian forces, similarly to other cities in the North-West part of Kyiv.
On the 3rd of April, Iryna Vereshchuk, Prosecutor General of Ukraine, reported that 410 bodies of murdered civilians were taken from the territory of the Kyiv region after it has been liberated from the Russian occupiers for forensic examination, in order to document Russia’s war crimes.

According to available information, the mass grave is still freshly dug, bodies of the victims are covered by black body bags. The total number of the victims is still unknown.
