The knife attack in Lukow occurred on Friday, 18 November. According to media reports, before 1 pm, on Kozia Street, in the building where the bailiff’s office to the District Court in Lukow is located, a 42-year-old attacked two people with a knife.
“Police officers who were the first to arrive on the scene used a firearm against the aggressive knifeman. The injured man was transported to the hospital,” Superintendent. Andrzej Fijołek, spokesman for the Regional Police Commander in Lublin reports in the police communiqué.
Death of the victim
According to local media reports, the 42-year-old injured a 44-year-old bailiff working in the building and an employee of the law firm. The injured persons were also taken to hospital.
“Before that, the emergency medical team on scene resuscitated the lady notary for a long time. The 44-year-old woman suffered severe injuries,” reports lukow24.pl.
Despite the doctors’ efforts, the 44-year-old died in the hospital.
The portal’s journalists also established unofficially that the aggressor (probably the debtor), on the same day, came to another bailiff’s office, where he also brawled. He was probably looking for the law firm which was handling his case,” it read.
At present, the Lukow police officers together with the prosecutor’s office are clarifying the circumstances of the assault. The media remind us that the 42-year-old faces up to life imprisonment for murder.
Zbigniew Ziobro commented the case
The events in Lukow and the death of the 44-year-old victim were commented on by the Minister of Justice Zbigniew Ziobro.
“To the family and relatives of the murdered lady bailiff in Lukow, I offer my deepest sympathy. I would like to assure them that the prosecutor’s office will make every effort to severely punish the culprit of this crime,” stressed the Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General.
