Integration meeting – a Polish-Ukrainian picnic in Katowice on April 23rd

All residents, especially families hosting Ukrainian families and people of Ukrainian nationality residing in Katowice are invited to the integration meeting which will take place this Saturday, April 23rd, at 8-10 Franciszkańska Square in Katowice.

As the number of Ukrainian refugees in Katowice has now exceeded at least 2200 people, the picnic will provide the citizens with a chance to meet them and break the ice.

The program of the picnic includes performances by Miejski Dom Kultury Ligota bands, bands from Miejski Dom Kultury “Południe” in Katowice-Piotrowice and a special artistic program prepared by students from the dormitory. The band “Czornobrywc’i” (Чорнобривці) will also take part in the event.

The integration meeting will also be an opportunity to try Ukrainian dishes also prepared by the students. The Wolne Miejsce foundation is cooking a traditional sour soup and preparing colourful eggs pisanki for the guests.

According to PAP (Polish Press Agency), the meeting will also include lots of entertainment for children. The youngest will be able to take part in various games and competitions. Soap bubbles, face painting, balloon tricks, and Giant Inflatable Dart Board are only a part of what we can expect at the picnic.
