On Saturday, April 30th, the International Jazz Day – Polish-Ukrainian Day under Giewont (Zakopane). Many attractions are planned: concerts by Fiś Banda, Schocolad and Leszek Szczerba; an architectural exhibition and a picnic with Ukrainian food. Simultaneously there will be fundraising for Ukrainian refugees.
The event will take place at the Piłsudski city park in Zakopane from 2 P.M. to 5 P.M. Firstly, Fiś Banda will perform. The band is composed of Andrzej Fiś, the leader and main vocal, Stanisław Rzadkosz (harmonies), Robert Czech (bass, dulcimer) and Paweł Medes (viola). Next will perform a Ukrainian band Schocolad, composed of Igor Hnydyn (leader, vocal, drums), Anastasja Litvinjuk (keyboard, vocal), Roman hranjuk (bass) and Ewa Novel (vocal). Saxophonist Leszek Szczerba is a special guest of the project.
Later, an exhibition of modern architecture of the Podhale region “Good Perspective” will be opened. There will also be a picnic with Ukrainian dishes: borscht, dumplings, pancakes and traditional desserts. Special initiatives are prepared for children: sport games, painting on the tarmac, visiting the Tatra Cultural Centre “Aurora” and performances by primary school students. During the event, the Tatra Parish will hold fundraising for Ukrainian refugees.
