Polish retail sales grew by 14.5 per cent year on year in March 2022 after a 14.2-per cent increase year on year in February 2022, Eurostat, the EU’s statistics agency, reported on Wednesday.
Month on month, retail sales went up by 0.7 per cent, the agency also said.
Eurostat annual growth figures are work-day adjusted, while the monthly growth figures are also seasonally adjusted.
Eurostat data also include small companies which employ fewer than 10 people – in this case, small family shops – but exclude auto sales.
Poland’s unemployment rate at 3.0 pct in March – Eurostat
Poland’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained unchanged at 3.0 per cent in March 2022 from the previous month, Eurostat, the EU’s statistical office, reported on Wednesday.
According to Eurostat, in March 2022, the unemployment rate in the eurozone countries, according to seasonally adjusted data, stood at 6.8 per cent.
According to Poland’s Central Statistical Office (GUS), Poland’s unemployment rate fell to 5.4 per cent in March 2022 from 5.5 per cent in February 2022.
The discrepancy between GUS and Eurostat figures results from the use of different methodologies.
