“Prof Waldemar Paruch has passed away,” the Minister of Education and Science Przemysław Czarnek informed on Twitter. “We bid farewell to a great Pole, political scientist and politician, who has made outstanding contributions to Poland. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord,” he wrote.
Professor Waldemar Paruch died at the age of 57. He was the inventor and later head of the Center for Strategic Analysis. At the end of 2020, he became Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Development of Higher Education and Science. He was a member of the Law and Justice Party and was a member of the Advisory Board. He taught at the Maria Curie University in Lublin.
Prof. Waldemar Paruch was born in Lublin in 1964. He was a political scientist. In 2011, he ran for the Sejm from the Law and Justice Party (PiS) lists in Krosno County. Three years later, he became a member of the PiS Advisory Board. He also was in Andrzej Duda’s campaign office before the 2015 presidential elections.
In 2018, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki appointed him as his Plenipotentiary for the establishment and operation of the Centre for Strategic Analysis. He then headed the institution until December 2019.
